IDF forces along the Lebanese border in the beginning of the month of
August, confirming its preliminary conclusions
(This must really piss off the, ahem, "anti-Zionists" but have no fear. They will find some other way to demonize and malign Jews and Israel or else just dismiss what UNIFIL said. MBS)
Nessim Boucai IDF 25 August 2010 , 19:09
http://dover.idf.il/IDF/English/News/today/10/08/2501.htm
UNIFIL announced today (Wednesday, August 25) that it had completed its
investigation of the August 3rd incident that occurred between the Lebanese
Armed Forces and the Israel Defense Forces, and verified its preliminary
conclusions that Israel had operated within its own borders when Lebanese
sniper fire targeted Israeli soldiers. The IDF had been pruning a tree that
each side claimed to be within its own territory, when the Lebanese army
used live fire towards the IDF force operating in the area, killing a senior
officer, and provoking an exchange of fire. UNIFIL announced that while
"both the LAF and IDF cooperated fully with the UNIFIL team during the
investigation", their completed report "confirms the preliminary
conclusions" in which UNIFIL had determined that the tree in question was
located inside Israel's border.
The preliminary conclusions had emphasized that the "trees being cut by the
Israeli army were located south of the Blue Line on the Israeli side", as
stated by UNIFIL military spokesperson Lt. Col. Naresh Bhatt following the
event. Moreover, as explained to Israeli Army Radio the day following the
event, Hungarian diplomat and UNIFIL spokesman Milos Strungar noted that,
"the IDF had coordinated the pruning work along the border with the Lebanese
Army through UNIFIL. The IDF had informed UNIFIL that it would be pruning a
tree on the northern side of the border fence, but south of the
international border line."
Force Commander Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas said in today's
statement that, "UNIFIL's investigation report is a result of a professional
and impartial work. It is based on the facts and all the evidence available
to UNIFIL at this stage. We hope this report will assist the parties to
prevent the reoccurrence of such a serious and tragic incident. I emphasized
to both sides that the incident of August 3rd, 2010 must remain an isolated
event."
IDF senior officer Lt. Col. (res.) Dov Harari was shot and killed when
Lebanese forces began to open fire, and IDF Officer Capt. Ezra Lakia was
severely injured during the incident. Two LAF soldiers and one Lebanese
journalist were also killed in the ensuing exchange of fire. Link to file :
Atheism, not religion, is the real force behind the mass murders of history
(Interesting read but I don't necessarily agree with all of it. MBS)
By Dinesh D'Souza / November 21, 2006 RANCHO SANTA FE, CALIF.
In recent months, a spate of atheist books have argued that religion represents,
as "End of Faith" author Sam Harris puts it, "the most potent source of human
conflict, past and present."
Columnist Robert Kuttner gives the familiar litany. "The Crusades slaughtered
millions in the name of Jesus. The Inquisition brought the torture and murder of
millions more. After Martin Luther, Christians did bloody battle with other
Christians for another three centuries."
In his bestseller "The God Delusion," Richard Dawkins contends that most of the
world's recent conflicts – in the Middle East, in the Balkans, in Northern
Ireland, in Kashmir, and in Sri Lanka – show the vitality of religion's
murderous impulse.
The problem with this critique is that it exaggerates the crimes attributed to
religion, while ignoring the greater crimes of secular fanaticism. The best
example of religious persecution in America is the Salem witch trials. How many
people were killed in those trials? Thousands? Hundreds? Actually, fewer than
25. Yet the event still haunts the liberal imagination.
It is strange to witness the passion with which some secular figures rail
against the misdeeds of the Crusaders and Inquisitors more than 500 years ago.
The number sentenced to death by the Spanish Inquisition appears to be about
10,000. Some historians contend that an additional 100,000 died in jail due to
malnutrition or illness.
These figures are tragic, and of course population levels were much lower at the
time. But even so, they are minuscule compared with the death tolls produced by
the atheist despotisms of the 20th century. In the name of creating their
version of a religion-free utopia, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong
produced the kind of mass slaughter that no Inquisitor could possibly match.
Collectively these atheist tyrants murdered more than 100 million people.
Moreover, many of the conflicts that are counted as "religious wars" were not
fought over religion. They were mainly fought over rival claims to territory and
power. Can the wars between England and France be called religious wars because
the English were Protestants and the French were Catholics? Hardly.
The same is true today. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not, at its core, a
religious one. It arises out of a dispute over self-determination and land.
Hamas and the extreme orthodox parties in Israel may advance theological claims
– "God gave us this land" and so forth – but the conflict would remain
essentially the same even without these religious motives. Ethnic rivalry, not
religion, is the source of the tension in Northern Ireland and the Balkans.
Blindly blaming religion for conflict
Yet today's atheists insist on making religion the culprit. Consider Mr.
Harris's analysis of the conflict in Sri Lanka. "While the motivations of the
Tamil Tigers are not explicitly religious," he informs us, "they are Hindus who
undoubtedly believe many improbable things about the nature of life and death."
In other words, while the Tigers see themselves as combatants in a secular
political struggle, Harris detects a religious motive because these people
happen to be Hindu and surely there must be some underlying religious craziness
that explains their fanaticism.
Harris can go on forever in this vein. Seeking to exonerate secularism and
atheism from the horrors perpetrated in their name, he argues that Stalinism and
Maoism were in reality "little more than a political religion." As for Nazism,
"while the hatred of Jews in Germany expressed itself in a predominantly secular
way, it was a direct inheritance from medieval Christianity." Indeed, "The
holocaust marked the culmination of ... two thousand years of Christian
fulminating against the Jews."
One finds the same inanities in Mr. Dawkins's work. Don't be fooled by this
rhetorical legerdemain. Dawkins and Harris cannot explain why, if Nazism was
directly descended from medieval Christianity, medieval Christianity did not
produce a Hitler. How can a self-proclaimed atheist ideology, advanced by Hitler
as a repudiation of Christianity, be a "culmination" of 2,000 years of
Christianity? Dawkins and Harris are employing a transparent sleight of hand
that holds Christianity responsible for the crimes committed in its name, while
exonerating secularism and atheism for the greater crimes committed in their
name.
Religious fanatics have done things that are impossible to defend, and some of
them, mostly in the Muslim world, are still performing horrors in the name of
their creed. But if religion sometimes disposes people to self-righteousness and
absolutism, it also provides a moral code that condemns the slaughter of
innocents. In particular, the moral teachings of Jesus provide no support for –
indeed they stand as a stern rebuke to – the historical injustices perpetrated
in the name of Christianity.
Atheist hubris
The crimes of atheism have generally been perpetrated through a hubristic
ideology that sees man, not God, as the creator of values. Using the latest
techniques of science and technology, man seeks to displace God and create a
secular utopia here on earth. Of course if some people – the Jews, the
landowners, the unfit, or the handicapped – have to be eliminated in order to
achieve this utopia, this is a price the atheist tyrants and their apologists
have shown themselves quite willing to pay. Thus they confirm the truth of
Fyodor Dostoyevsky's dictum, "If God is not, everything is permitted."
Whatever the motives for atheist bloodthirstiness, the indisputable fact is that
all the religions of the world put together have in 2,000 years not managed to
kill as many people as have been killed in the name of atheism in the past few
decades.
It's time to abandon the mindlessly repeated mantra that religious belief has
been the greatest source of human conflict and violence. Atheism, not religion,
is the real force behind the mass murders of history.
• Dinesh D'Souza is the Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution. His new book,
"The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11," will be
published in January.
Atheism Kills
(Once again, interesting read but I do not necessarily agree with all of it. MBS)
In these secular times, religion regularly gets a bad rap. And anti-Christian
bigotry especially accelerates, with most of the world's ills, from burnt toast
to global warming, somehow pinned on the Christian faith.
Of course Christianity has made its fair share of mistakes over the years, but
according to the atheist militants, it can do no right. Indeed, the secular
jihad takes no prisoners, finding all religious folk guilty of every conceivable
villainy and vice.
The secularists are especially happy to lay the blame for the wars of the world
on the shoulders of religion. They argue that if we just get rid of religion,
most conflict would cease, and we could all live together in peace and harmony.
Historical fact, however, will not allow for such a distorted view of things.
Writing in the November 21, 2006 Christian Science Monitor, Dinesh D'Souza
argues that "Atheism, not religion, is the real force behind the mass murders of
history".
He begins by citing a number of atheist authors, from Sam Harris to Richard
Dawkins, all of whom take cheap potshots at religion, seeking to attribute mass
murder to religious belief. "The problem with this critique," says D'Souza, "is
that it exaggerates the crimes attributed to religion, while ignoring the
greater crimes of secular fanaticism. The best example of religious persecution
in America is the Salem witch trials. How many people were killed in those
trials? Thousands? Hundreds? Actually, fewer than 25. Yet the event still haunts
the liberal imagination."
He continues, "It is strange to witness the passion with which some secular
figures rail against the misdeeds of the Crusaders and Inquisitors more than 500
years ago. The number sentenced to death by the Spanish Inquisition appears to
be about 10,000. Some historians contend that an additional 100,000 died in jail
due to malnutrition or illness. These figures are tragic, and of course
population levels were much lower at the time. But even so, they are minuscule
compared with the death tolls produced by the atheist despotisms of the 20th
century. In the name of creating their version of a religion-free utopia, Adolf
Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong produced the kind of mass slaughter that
no Inquisitor could possibly match. Collectively these atheist tyrants murdered
more than 100 million people."
Moreover, many of these so-called "religious wars" were not really about
religion at all, but about territory and power claims. "Can the wars between
England and France be called religious wars because the English were Protestants
and the French were Catholics? Hardly. The same is true today. The
Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not, at its core, a religious one. It arises out
of a dispute over self-determination and land. Hamas and the extreme orthodox
parties in Israel may advance theological claims – `God gave us this land' and
so forth – but the conflict would remain essentially the same even without these
religious motives. Ethnic rivalry, not religion, is the source of the tension in
Northern Ireland and the Balkans."
Yet the secularists not only blame religion, they seek to whitewash the crimes
of secularism. Indeed, a common trick is to claim that Hitler, et. al., were
somehow actually religious! The atheists speak of `political religion' and the
like, attempting to defuse the secularism of last century's great mass
murderers. "Dawkins and Harris are employing a transparent sleight of hand that
holds Christianity responsible for the crimes committed in its name, while
exonerating secularism and atheism for the greater crimes committed in their
name."
He continues, "Religious fanatics have done things that are impossible to
defend, and some of them, mostly in the Muslim world, are still performing
horrors in the name of their creed. But if religion sometimes disposes people to
self-righteousness and absolutism, it also provides a moral code that condemns
the slaughter of innocents. In particular, the moral teachings of Jesus provide
no support for – indeed they stand as a stern rebuke to – the historical
injustices perpetrated in the name of Christianity."
The secular attempt to create a `new man' as in Marxism has time and again
resulted in coercive utopianism. Whether the bloodlust of the French Revolution,
or the ideological terror of the Russian Revolution, these secular crusades have
been the real source of misery in the world. "The crimes of atheism have
generally been perpetrated through a hubristic ideology that sees man, not God,
as the creator of values. Using the latest techniques of science and technology,
man seeks to displace God and create a secular utopia here on earth. Of course
if some people – the Jews, the landowners, the unfit, or the handicapped – have
to be eliminated in order to achieve this utopia, this is a price the atheist
tyrants and their apologists have shown themselves quite willing to pay. Thus
they confirm the truth of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's dictum, `If God is not,
everything is permitted'."
Concludes D'Souza, "Whatever the motives for atheist bloodthirstiness, the
indisputable fact is that all the religions of the world put together have in
2,000 years not managed to kill as many people as have been killed in the name
of atheism in the past few decades. It's time to abandon the mindlessly repeated
mantra that religious belief has been the greatest source of human conflict and
violence. Atheism, not religion, is the real force behind the mass murders of
history."
Perspective, in other words, in needed here. Religion has certainly been
responsible for much grief and bloodshed. And militant Islam certainly needs to
be mentioned here. But the secular holy wars have been the chief culprit in
human history, and it is time religious folk call the secularists' bluff in this
regard.

PHONY TERRORIST LEADER BEING "BRANDED" BY ASSOCIATED PRESS, THE "VOICE OF ISRAEL"
*By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor----VETERANS AFFAIRS*
Adnan Shukrijumah, 35 formerly of Brooklyn, New York and Miami Beach is more
likely to carry the real name Levine or Goldstein. The "legend,"
intelligence jargon for a false background constructed for an imaginary
person, created for Shukrijumah is paper thin. An FBI Agent named Brian
LeBlanc in an "exclusive interview" with the Associated Press warned the
world of this new "bin Laden" clone.
Another term is "branding." This is what was done with Osama bin Laden, a
former CIA operative and minor player in Afghanistan during the 1980s. He
was branded as a terrorist mastermind, blamed for 9/11 though there isn't a
single shred of proof of his involvement and has been chased around the
world for the last nine years though he has been dead that long. Bin Laden
died December 14, 2001. Adnan Shukrijumah, or whoever he really is, may
well be the next "patsy" blamed for a "much too convenient" terror attack
meant to send the United States to war with Iran, another war fought for
Israeli business.
Now we are told that Adnan Shukrijumah of Miami Beach, probably enraged at
the closing of Wolfie's "Rascal House," a really excellent deli, is the
greatest threat America faces. An FBI agent has crowned him "king of Al
Qaeda."
One other problem is that Al Qaeda doesn't exist, never has.
We simply made it up. There has never been such an organization, there has
never been an organized world terrorist conspiracy of any kind. There have
never been terrorist training camps in Afghanistan. Has anyone ever seen a
photo of one? Of course not. In our nearly ten years scouring every square
foot of Afghanistan, we have never found any of those "monkey bar" things we
seeing the the films put on the internet. Journalists joke about these
films along with the phony bin Laden videos. We call the Israeli group that
puts them out "Bin Laden Studios."
Arabs with box cutters had nothing to do with 9/11. This is a cover story.
It was all made up. There is no proof of their involvement and, quite to
the contrary, six of the supposed dead terrorists are alive and well and
screaming for press interviews. 9/11 had nothing to do with terrorism,
nothing to do with Arabs and everything to do with money. Follow the money.
Why is this game being played, attacks in London and Madrid, New York and
Detroit now, why the games? The answer is simple. The Caspian basin has
trillions of dollars in gas and oil, controlled by new and highly corrupt
countries whose governments turned to Israel years ago for technical
support. With Russia, the Gulf States and Nigeria controlling most of the
world's oil supply and money supplies almost exhausted, every loose cent
that can be stolen already stashed away, looted by the banksters with the
help of the Rothschilds and the Federal Reserve, this is the last great
prize.
Chasing trillions of dollars of hydrocarbons, the last great source of
collateral in the world, has brought about more than just the creation of
phony terrorist organizations, false flag terror attacks and two phony wars.
Yes, we mean up to twelve trillion dollars in gas and oil is sitting there
to be stolen from weak and corrupt governments. For this kind of money, we
can easily expect another 9/11 or perhaps something worse, something
"nuclear." The people making these decisions care nothing for human life,
nothing for America and certainly, one thing I can assure you, not a single
one of them is a Muslim.
The process of funding the corruption of these governments has taken
billions of dollars. That money has come from the narcotics trade
re-instituted by the Bush administration after the invasion of Afghanistan.
What was no opium production at all is now, not just opium but heroin, with
refining now done in Afghanistan and new poppy fields being planted every
day with American guarding, not only the harvest but helping with the export
as well. This is why America has used "contractors" to such an extent.
It isn't only Afghanistan, we are planting poppies in Iraq as well. In
case, ok, let's face it, when America loses the war in Afghanistan, it is
likely the Taliban will destroy opium production again. The only thing
keeping Afghanistan afloat is drug money, American payoffs to the Taliban to
let our supplies into the country, estimated at nearly $800,000,000 a year
paid to the enemy by America's military, keeps them awash in cash. Taliban
leaders have to travel to Pakistan. It is the only way they can fly to
Dubai to bank their American cash. They share hotels there with the
druglords tied to our "friends," all involved in the same sick game.
In the end, gas and oil will be piped through Afghanistan from the
narco-republics of the Caspian. These negotiations have been going on since
the 1990s. Our invasion of Afghanistan was only part of it, part of the
negotiations. The Taliban was looking for too big a cut of the profits. We
thought we could brush them aside and take over. 9/11 and the carefully
planned and staged disinformation campaign attempting to tie it to
Afghanistan was nothing personal, it was business. People die in business
every day. Ask any banker.
This is the reason an FBI agent's uncontrolled blithering to an AP reporter
is now in hundreds of newspapers as the branding of a new leader of a
non-existent terrorist organization. It is also the reason we are likely to
see a new terrorist attack in the United States after Labor Day. Attacks
are time for news cycles. Check on that. We can expect one in September
and another one around Christmas with one more on the run up to Easter.
What could we find out about Shukrijumah? Air Force pilots who have flown
him and his family, yes, you have it right, United States Air Force, claim
the photos and likenesses are totally phony. These pictures are someone
else entirely. This isn't the first time this has happened as the strange
transformations of Osama bin Laden showed us. My how much bin Laden changed
after his death.
It took minutes to get multiple confirmations on this. Everything about our
"terrorist" and his family is being misrepresented. These aren't even the
same people. This is too easy.
If a several questions didn't just come to mind after reading this, you
aren't getting enough sleep.
There are no people hiding in Afghanistan planning these attacks. There are
no terrorist leaders. No, Mullah Omar, the imaginary leader of the Taliban
is not planning a major offensive against American troops or attacks on
anyone. Even if he does have one of those encrypted Israeli satellite
phones that the rest of the insurgents are using to defeat American signals
intelligence operations, he is unlikely to be doing anything other than
waiting.
America, along with the "Karzai Incorpated" drug cartel has created a
monstrous situation in Afghanistan. General Petraeus inherited a nightmare,
9 years of wrong direction, wrong country, wrong everything. Yes, there is
corruption, evil. Yes, America is being victimized by violent men, planning
the downfall of the United States.
We call them "congress."
When something blows up, be it a dirty bomb in Cleveland, not too close to
Shaker Heights, or a school in Little Rock, a "branded" terrorist leader,
one with a storybook background, Saudi born, evil extremist Muslim dad, will
be dragged out. As with most of our phony terrorists, he will be a ghost, a
Mossad agent like the dozens, maybe hundreds of violent Muslim terrorists
they dress up and parade out when needed.
Simply put, there is no Islamic terrorist movement of any kind other than
the groups promoting a just and peaceful settlement in Gaza, groups that
strike back against Israeli violence, really Israeli terrorism. They have
no reason to attack the United States. Millions in the United States
support them.
The cover for 9/11, the idea that Americans were "defiling" the religious
shrines of Saudi Arabia is equally insane. Nobody in their right mind
believes that. Extremists exist. They ran the United States. If you want
to ask someone about 9/11, someone who could tell you why, tell you how, go
to Dallas. Ask George "W" Bush about 9/11. He knows.

(EXCELLENT READ!!! MBS)
The Nazi propaganda rag Der Sturmer may have gone out of publication around the time that the Fuhrer's ashes were smoldering in his bunker beneath the Wilhelmstrasse, but its motto is present today in almost every liberal newspaper in the Western world. Der Sturmer's daily invocation of "Die Juden sind unser Unglück!" or "The Jews are our misfortune!" is omnipresent in the media coverage of almost anything involving the Middle East or Islamic terrorism.
The theme is much the same now as it was then, the Jews are responsible for all our problems. The presentation is of course much more subtle, but then Der Sturmer was considered vulgar even by much of the Nazi hierarchy, which preferred the more staid Völkisch Observer. Today's papers prefer to be in the Observer mode, the Storming they leave to the "plausible deniability" blogs of an Andrew Sullivan or a Glenn Greenwald, material that they pay for, but like a lot of the Nazi hierarchy and Der Sturmer, don't necessarily want to be too closely associated with.
The ideas however are not particularly original. The Jews are to blame both for the wars and for losing them, a propaganda paradox put to good use by the Nazis. The idea that the Jews were physically responsible for 9/11 is an area that the media leaves to the fringe, but the suggestion that the Jews provoked Bin Laden's anger against America shows up in countless columns and op-ed's. One is a radical conspiracy theory, while the other is a mainstream media talking point, but in terms of consciously stoking hate, what exactly is the difference. Only that the latter is vague enough to be defensible, especially when bolstered by a few selectively chosen quotes from the man himself.
By linking Islamic terrorism to some form of Israeli provocation, and from there to the support for Israel by American Jews-- the same media which would commit seppuku rather than blame Muslims for Islamic terrorism, instead blames Jews for Islamic terrorism. The steady drumbeat of such rhetoric, which exonerates Muslims but indicts Jews, for the actions of Muslims, is brilliantly perverse. And it also puts the lie to the media's defense that it avoids attributing terrorism to Islam because it does not want to stoke bigotry. In reality, the media has no problem with using Islamic terrorism to stoke bigotry. It just has a different target in mind.
Behind the media's long ugly history of misreporting terrorism against Israel, has been that one fundamental narrative, that it is not Muslims who are responsible for Muslim terrorism, but the Jews. When a Muslim terrorist attack happens in Tel Aviv, Madrid or New York-- it turns out that the Jews are the ones to blame. It really doesn't matter whether an Israeli soldier kills a Muslim terrorist, or a Muslim terrorist kills a Jewish father of four driving home from work, it is never the Muslim that is at fault. Always the Jew. Forget about even splitting the difference. There is never any difference to split. It is always Israel's "humiliation" of Arab Muslims that is at fault for provoking their righteously murderous anger. A familiar theme that recalls Hitler's constant invocation of "German humiliation" at the hands of the Jews.
But all the talk of the Jews "humiliating" other peoples hinges on the topic of the Jews as a "Chosen Master Race". A superior people. A role that Nazis and Arab Nationalists both reserved for themselves. The theme is taken up in numerous outlets, Jonathan Cook who appears in The Guardian writes: "Israel's apartheid system is there to maintain Jewish privilege in a Jewish state". In a Hitlerian formulation, Philip Weiss who appears at the Huffington Post claims that Jeff Greene's criticism of the Ground Zero Mosque, "how privilege and power have transformed Jewish identity". Not that Jeff Greene opposes the mosque because he is following the polls as so many other politicians have done, but because he is a Jew. The Guardian charges that Israel is an "an enclave of Israeli Jewish privilege". That kind of rhetoric should be familiar. It is what Hitler described as "The anti-Semitism of reason" which "must lead to the systematic combating and elimination of Jewish privileges".
That is why the issue is rarely the issue. The media began with the narrative that Israel had attacked a flotilla full of human rights activists trying to deliver food and medicine to starving children in Gaza. After demonstrating conclusively that the human rights activists were actually violent Turkish Islamists calling openly for the murder of Jews. That Israeli soldiers had only fired in self-defense. That the medicines were expired, a useless sham by a ship that was actually coming to support Hamas. And finally that no one is starving among Gaza's well stocked supermarkets and shopping malls. But did that conclusively put the issue to bed? Not at all, because the issue was never the issue.
The media responded that, yes the flotilla was not there to ferry supplies, but run the blockade. And that was entirely justified, because look at how Israel is humiliating the people of Gaza. And yes, the activists may have attacked first, but that was because... look at how Israel is humiliating the people of Gaza. And yes there may be a shopping mall in Gaza, but it isn't nearly as good as Target, and look at how Israel is humiliating the people of Gaza. The goalposts always get moved until they wind up back in the same place-- justifying violence against the Jews, because some people that fancied themselves the master race are feeling bad over their failed attempt to kill Jews.
When most of the Arab countries of the Middle East invaded Israel, and Israel beat them back, the Jews were accused of humiliating the Arabs. In 1970, when Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser died, the AP ran a wire story which explained that Israel had made peace with Nasser impossible by twice defeating him on the battlefield, both times after Nasser had committed acts of war. Nasser is quoted as saying; "Israel is a country of two million people, and we are a country of 30 million people. For Israel to be able to fly its warplanes over Cairo any time it wants is as humiliating to me, as it would be to you if the Cubans were able to fly over Washington and your armed forces were powerless to stop them."
Nasser, leader of a country that was 20 times the size of Israel, and had 15 times the population, had 300,000 troops, nearly 2,000 tanks, over 500 aircraft and combat helicopters, felt humiliated by Israel. And rather than feeling sorry for the country that he had attacked, a country that you could drop into the Sinai desert without anyone being the wiser, the media felt sorry for Nasser's "humiliation". That despite his huge military, massive population and territory-- he was the victim. Because the Chosen People had once again humiliated a man whom the French and British governments had described as a New Hitler.
All the media's talk about Israeli disproportionate force in relation to Muslim terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank has nothing to do with it. Back when Israel was fighting wars for survival against enemies that vastly outnumbered it, the Jews were still to blame for humiliating their enemies by refusing to die. That is "Jewish Privilege". To go on living, even when people who fancy themselves nobler and better, who have wonderful ideas about a Third Reich or a Pan-Arab or Pan-Islamic union want them dead.
Back in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War, while Israel was desperately fighting for its survival, the Deseret News was worried that an Israeli victory would lead the "humiliated Arab world" to refuse peace negotiations. The Wall Street Journal editorialized, "the Arabs may be more willing to talk peace when they can look proudly across a bargaining table, rather than after a humiliating defeat". The Nevada Daily Mail warned that "humiliation can only lead to more fanatical dreams of revenge". Israel might be allowed to survive. It might even be allowed to fight to a draw. But not to win. Winning decisively would humiliate the Arab Muslims. It would undermine their sense of superiority in relation to the people who had formerly been second-class citizens under their dominion.
It is a common phenomenon, a short hop and skip, from the Nazi press ranting about the humiliating professional successes of Jews in Germany, to the Liberal press ranting about the humiliating military successes of the Jews in Israel. The underlying narrative is not so much that Jews came by their success unfairly, as that they have no right to it because they are foreigners, outsiders and interlopers. And that too is a fundamental part of the media's Anti-Israel narrative. That despite a history dating back thousands of years, Jews are outsiders in the region. That they have no right to "Arab land", just as they had no right to "Aryan jobs". And who decided that all the land belongs to the Arabs and all the jobs belong to the Aryans?
That is where Der Sturmer or Der Guardian comes in, to demonize millions of people as greedy usurpers bent on seizing what belongs to others. And so a complex regional history is reduced to, "Die Juden sind unser Unglück!" To a narrative in which arrogant Jews displace their betters, subjugate and abuse them. One that is more ancient than Rome, when Cicero echoed it, that rolls back to the ancient Pharaohs, one of whom proclaimed that the Jews must be enslaved because they had become too prosperous and numerous, and will otherwise take over all of Egypt. Over 3000 years later, Anti-Semitism has not changed very much.
The dirty little secret is that it is an upper class bigotry with populist overtones. Rulers and would be rulers, employ it with the people to legitimize their tyranny. Hitler's Third Reich and Stalin's USSR, like Nasser's Pan-Arabist dreams, Iran's Shiite expansion or the Muslim Brotherhood's Caliphate all require a defeatable enemy close at hand. Pharaoh had his construction projects, Hitler had Albert Speer's fortresses and Islam has the skyscrapers of Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Their visions are grandiose, but inhuman. They are bent on a united world under their authority. And somehow the Jews always prove to be in the way. The foreign element that spoils their plan for a homogeneous empire.
The media's liberalism has made it notoriously sympathetic to dreamers of that sort. It is not sympathetic to ethnic or religious separatists. Just ask the Kurds or the Basque. Even the Tibetans for all their non-violence have hardly gotten more than a casual shrug. If the issue of Muslim terrorism in Israel were really a matter of another Middle Eastern minority looking for rights or a state of its own, the media could not be paid enough to care. But the issue is not separatism, but unity. To the left, it is not the Arab Muslims in Israel who are separatists, but the the Jews living in the Middle East who are the real separatists. Who insist on their own state, their own laws and their own identity. The Jews who obstructed socialism with their separatism in Europe and Russia, are now obstructing those who would regionally unite Arabs and Muslims, as a prelude to global unity.
That is the issue. That has always been the issue. That will always be the issue. It is why Jews are hated. It is why Israel is hated.
And so the media hate machine grinds on. With a touch of paint and the whisk of a brush, Der Sturmer's cartoons of greedy murdering Jews defined by the Star of David, have been reborn in the pages of the Guardian, the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times. Except now they're greedy murderous Israelis, who often seem to have the same hooked noses and fat necks that they did in the pages of Der Sturmer, and are back to their old tricks again. When they're not menacing innocent women and children, they're corrupting politicians and arrogantly shoving their weight around-- all favorite themes that would have been met with a knowing smirk from Julius Streicher himself.
The modern professional cartoonist has generally studied enough to be familiar with the work of Fips and Seppla and knows exactly what he is doing. Associating Nazi imagery with Jews serves not only as a vicious smear, but as his best defense against accusations that he is recycling Nazi imagery. Even when he's caught doing it, his defense is that he's doing it to indict Jews for their Nazi-like behavior. It is not a defense that a Nazi cartoonist like Fips could have used, but it is an easy defense for a post-Nazi cartoonist like Pat Oliphant or Dick Locher. The obsessive use of Nazi themes allows them to project their own use of Nazi ideas onto Israel. The more they associate Israel with the Nazis, the less anyone will notice whose pencil they borrowed to draw those cartoons with.
And so the Jews become the "Real Nazis", just as they are the real "Religious Terrorists". The crimes committed against Jews, become the crimes of the Jews themselves. Because the guilty never want to take responsibility for what they have done. And so when Muslims set off a bomb in Jerusalem, their clerics announce that Islam abhors violence, and that Israel is the real terrorists-- while Jewish clerics rush to the scene of the bombing to scrub fragments of skin and bone, pull fingers out of trees, in order to bury what's left of the dead in the same place. And the media in all its studied liberalism nods its head and agrees. The Jews indeed are the ones responsible. After all by thwarting the dreams of Arab Nationalists and Islamists to build a superstate, by refusing to make enough concessions at the negotiating table to insure their own destruction-- the Jews bring terror on themselves.
The media has not gotten better, it has gotten better at packaging its bigotry. It has learned that using Jewish pundits allows it to serve as a platform for ideas on the same level of discourse as Streicher, without being vulnerable to accusations of bigotry. After all Greenwald, Klein and Blumenthal are Jewish names, aren't they? It's not a new idea. The Soviet Union routinely used press conferences by Jewish writers and artists to legitimize the persecution of Jews. These were the "Good Jews", loyal Communists and devoted to the Soviet Union, who were here to condemn the Judaism, Zionism and Cosmopolitanism of the "Bad Jews". The "Good Jews" worked at magazines like Krokodil, drawing Soviet versions of Der Sturmer's cartoons of greedy murdering Jews wearing the Star of David. The "Bad Jews" died. Tens of thousands in Holodomor. Hundreds of thousands in the Gulag. Millions of more might have died, had Stalin's plan for a Soviet Holocaust come to fruition. But the Soviet Union had, what Nazi Germany did not have, but the modern day left wing hate machine does, men and women with Jewish last names, up in front to defend its bigotry.
The constant drumbeat of the media hate machine against Israel has the same effect on Europeans and some Americans that Der Sturmer's hate sheets did on ordinary Germans. Bias, hate and bigotry free some to be Nazis, and teach others that it is best to go along with the crowd. Max von der Grün wrote about his childhood growing up in Nazi Germany. The title of his book was Howl Like the Wolves. When the wolves are howling you had better join them, or be prepared to take on the entire pack. And eventually most people begin to howl too. Some howl quieter than others. Some howl just for show. But others get into it all the way. Some who were once lambs become the worst of the wolves, because they find strength in being a wolf.
What the Nazis knew is that weak people are drawn to identities that give them strength. So many timid people looking for a way to express their anger. A chance to be wolves rather than sheep. A chance to hurt someone, rather than be hurt. To release all their decades of grievances and grudges on a deserving target. To whine like a mosquito while drinking their fill of blood. The ecstasy of crowds at Hitler's speeches, was the pathetic and disgusting sight of weak-minded people eagerly transfigured with a feeling of strength. The Jihadist who kills himself among a crowd of the innocent feels that same ecstasy. The savage joy of a manipulated sheep who thinks that participating in violence somehow makes him a wolf.
Allah Akbar or Heil Hitler, it makes no real difference. Both mean the same thing. It means that I am strong because I am the tool of those who are stronger than me. Who are more ruthless than me. Who give me orders that I will follow, because I lack the initiative to make my own decisions. Tell me what to do, and I will kill, a single man, or a million. It makes no difference. What matters is that sense of strength that comes through unity. A billion bodies and one mind. One will. One Fuhrer. One Reich. One dream. And in the middle of that dream is the Jew.
The Bad Jew who stands in the way of that overpowering unity. A foreign element. An interloper. The one thing standing in the way of all those people feeling their strength for the first time. All those strong people suddenly make weak by his very presence. Humiliated. And humiliation is the one thing that cowards and the weak-minded can never forgive. It is why they become Nazis and Islamists. To feel strong. To overcome their personal humiliations in a mass identity. When their mass identity cries "Kill the Jew", and the Jew survives, then they feel even more humiliated. Then they feel weak and the only thing that will make them feel strong again, is revenge.
Think about it. Think about Marc Garlasco talking about how an SS jacket is so cool, "makes my blood go cold". Or the Chairman Of Finnish Amnesty International calling Israel a "scum state". Helen Thomas telling Jews to go back to Poland and Germany. Oliver Stone discoursing on how Jewish influence caused Hitler to be misunderstood. The Daily Mail shrieks, "Israel Accuses UK of Anti-Semitism", a headline that echoes, The Daily Express' famous 1933 headline, "Judea Declares War on Germany". Jewish stores and companies are boycotted. Papers from Jewish researchers from Israel are rejected. Wolves must howl. And howl they will. Some are true wolves, eager to spill blood. Some are only weak-minded people looking for an enemy to give them strength. And some only go along out of conformity, echoing the opinions of those around them, clinging to them for comfort. And the drumbeat goes on.
The media's Anti-Semitic hate machine does for the far left, what Der Sturmer once did for the far right. It makes their hatred and bigotry mainstream. It feeds the wolves. It teaches people to be Nazis. To find strength in an age-old hatred for age-old reasons. To howl at the Jew, while the Muslim slits their throat.

1. Would-be Bronx Synagogue Bombers Prayed for Success by Chana Ya'ar
Four would-be Bronx synagogue bombers prayed for success before setting out on their murderous mission, according to U.S. prosecutors.
The four, 44-year-old James Cromitie, 34-year-old Onta Williams, 29-year-old David Williams and 28-year-old Laguerre Payen, were charged with conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction and attempting to use missiles to kill U.S. officers and employees.
In his opening statement to the Manhattan Federal Court, Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Hickey told the jury, "They were prepared to go all the way through with their destructive and murderous plan," which included shooting down military planes.
The prosecution said it would show the jury a video of the defendants praying for success prior to setting out to attack two New York synagogues in May 2009.
The four -- three of whom were U.S. citizens and one a Haitian immigrant -- were originally approached by FBI informant Shahed Hussain after he heard them discussing their hatred of Jews and a desire to hurt Americans. The sentiment apparently was ignited by U.S. actions in the Middle East.
Hussain, known to the group as "Maqsood," provided the would-be bombers with non-working explosives and stinger missiles, after telling them he was a member of a Pakistani terrorist organization and offering to fund their efforts and supply the materials.
The informant also secretly videotaped his conversations with the suspects.
Cromitie told Hussain on the tape that "the best target in New York had already been hit" – an apparent reference to the World Trade Center that was destroyed during the 9/11 attack on New York by al-Qaeda terrorists in 2001. He added that he would like to hit another target, like the George Washington Bridge, a large military transport plane, or a synagogue.
"Above all, Cromitie said he wanted to hit a synagogue," Hickey said.
Attorney Vincent Briccetti, in defending Cromitie, said his client had been entrapped by Hussain, a convicted felon whom he called a "master manipulator."
The four have pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, they could be sentenced to prison terms of 25 years to life.
Bronx Synagogues to Receive Future Protection
The two synagogues targeted by the would-be terrorists – the Riverdale Temple and the Riverdale Jewish Center – are on a list of 80 high-risk groups set to receive an average of $73,000 each to fortify their buildings against terror attacks. The funds are to be distributed before the November elections.
The Department of Homeland Security last month allocated more than $5.8 million in federal funding to beef up the protection of the buildings with security cameras, barricades and emergency release doors.
U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn and Queens, NY) announced at a July news conference held at Manhattan's Ramaz School, a modern Orthodox day school also on the list to receive funds, "Everybody is entitled to have their security needs met." The list includes a total of 36 religious schools, 25 synagogues, 12 community centers, six hospitals and a church. Specific details were not released due to security concerns.
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz is not happy with Defense Minister Ehud Barak's recent decision to purchase 20 F-35 "Evader" airplanes from the United States - and the decision will be reconsidered.
Three Objections
Steinitz says the planes are simply too expensive, and has asked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to suffice with Barak's opinion alone on the matter. Netanyahu has agreed to discuss the matter in a more extensive forum, the composition of which is yet to be announced.
Steinitz also objects to the deal on the grounds that the U.S. has refused to install Israeli systems on the plane. These systems would improve its capabilities, perpetuating Israel's air superiority in the region even if, as expected, Saudi Arabia or other Arab countries purchase the same plane.
It has also been noted that the delivery date of the F-35, four years from now, is likely to be too late for use against the Iranian nuclear threat.
In Favor of the F-35
On the other hand, the F-35 plane "will give the [Israel] Air Force the best capability in the short and long range, and will allow Israel to maintain aerial superiority," Minister Barak said upon making the decision to purchase it. Though the F-35 has a limited pay-load capability, it is known for its ability to reach an enemy target undetected and it possesses top-level computer systems.
The F-35 is set to cost approximately $137.5 million, making it the most expensive plane ever purchased by Israel. Israel originally considered buying 75 of them, but the prohibitive price tag was instrumental in bringing this number down to 20, for a total of $2.75 billion. No other country has yet purchased the F-35.
In actuality, the price will be returned to Israel and then some, in the form of defense contracts. The value of work that F-35 manufacturer Lockheed Martin is prepared to give Israeli defense companies could amount to up to 180% of the cost of the entire deal, reports Defense News. This extraordinarily high return for an international arms deal has raised some eyebrows, and even criticism, in the U.S. Other countries generally receive between 40% and 100% in defense contracts when purchasing American weapons.
Lockheed Martin said that if Israel buys 20 F-35s, it would award Israeli companies contracts worth $4 billion for work related to the plane's production. An option for another $1 billion over the course of ten years is also part of the deal.
No date has been announced for the next discussion of the purchase.
Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz of the Likud declared this week that just one month from now, when the ten-month freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria officially expires, building will resume in a frenzy. In addition, he said, a comprehensive train network in Judea and Samaria is already being planned.
Katz made the remarks in a meeting with party loyalists in the Haifa area. Attorney activist Aviad Visoly, who heads the Likud chapter in the Haifa area, told Israel National News that Minister Katz "is among those non-defeatists who feel that we are going to remain in Judea and Samaria for a long, long time."
Katz said that the planned rail lines will run both east-west and north-south. One route will lead from Rosh HaAyin (just east of Petah Tikva) to Ariel (central Shomron), and another will connect Latrun/Modiin with Ramallah/Beit El area. In addition, the northern Shomron area will be connected to Be'er Sheva, 150 kilometers to the south. The routes would feature connections to the existing train routes connecting the Haifa area with Ashkelon.
Planning rail tracks can take well over a decade, Visoly said, beginning with planning the basic route, checking ownership of the various tracts of land involved, and more.
This is not the first time Katz has spoken of train-route plans in Judea and Samaria. This past May, while touring the Shomron, he said that a train network could advance peace in improving transport of consumer goods and passengers, both Arab and Jewish.
In the early 20th century, Jezreel Valley Train route was built from Haifa to the Tiberias area, via Afula and Beit She'an. An extension was later added, connecting Afula with Jenin. The Valley Train was discontinued in 1951.
Freeze to End One Month From Now
Minister Katz said that despite the announcement of direct talks with the PA and the accompanying PA threats regarding continued Jewish construction, "the freeze ends on midnight of September 26, and it will not be renewed." He said that a minute later, the heads of Judea and Samaria regional and local councils will sign "thousands" of building permits, leading to construction on a vast scale.
Judea and Samaria is officially under IDF governance, and therefore Defense Minister Ehud Barak's approval is required for much of what occurs in these areas. Asked if Barak can hold up the construction by not granting his signature, Visoly said that anywhere there is already an approved building plan – as there is in many communities and towns in Judea and Samaria – Barak's signature is not needed.
The United States is donating nearly $270,000 this year to restore five Islamic sites as part of a worldwide project to support a global cultural facelift, according to The Associated Press.
The funds are being provided under an annual program established by the U.S. Congress in 2001, the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.
The five Islamic projects include:
· 16th century Grand Mosque in Tongxin, China,
· 18th century Golden Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan,
· 19th century minaret in the ancient Mauritanian city of Tichitt,
· Sundarwala Burl -- a 16th century Islamic monument in New Delhi, and
· 18th century Gobaruau minaret in Katsina, Nigeria.
Also funded this year are projects to restore Christian and Buddhist sites, as well as museums, forts and palaces.
"Cultural heritage serves as a reminder of historical experiences and achievements of humanity," said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in announcing the 2010 projects last month. "Ancient structures and objects offer important lessons for us today."
Nearly $6 million is being allocated for some 63 sites in 55 countries around the world. A total of $26 million has been spent on 640 cultural preservation projects in more than 100 countries since the birth of the program.
The public relations trip to the Persian Gulf scheduled for the organizer of the Cordoba House Ground Zero mosque, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is also being funded under the program. Rauf is being sent by the State Department to Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates as a "good will ambassador" to explain U.S. religious tolerance traditions, and how Islam is perceived by the average American.
Police turned a planned press conference against Palestinian Authority government policy into an illegal rally – and then banned it, injuring participants in the process.
The Palestinian Authority's Ma'an news agency reports that the police in the Palestinian Authority have a different version of the events.
The issue involved opposition by some groups against the PA's decision to enter into direct talks with Israel. The event was organized by left-wing factions and several independent politicians, and a similar one was to be held in Gaza City.
According to one of the conference organizers, former Ramallah mayoral candidate Khaleda Jarrar of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the intention was to hold a press conference inside a Ramallah hall, and not to conduct a protest rally outside. However, she said, PA police "in civilian uniforms attempted to thwart the event from the start, chanting slogans and leading event participants towards the center of Ramallah."
She said the plainclothes officers were trying to provoke participants, and though "we aimed to voice our dissent… the PA decided to enter the conference hall and drag participants out to an unplanned rally" in order to quash it. The government-affiliated Watan TV station said network cameramen were assaulted and injured and their equipment confiscated.
On the other hand, a PA police spokesman denied to Ma'an any police intervention at the conference, saying forces were "surprised when an illegal rally was carried out on the streets of Ramallah." He said security forces "did not enter the hall in either civilian dress or military uniform, [and] had no part in the decision to prevent the holding of a news conference. Forces on patrol were surprised when a gathering of people headed to Watan television studios. When the individuals were asked what they were doing, they said they were carrying out a rally… The age of chaos is over, these matter require prior notification and a permit."
Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak announced Wednesday afternoon that the country's first nuclear power plant will be built at El Dabaa on the Mediterranean coast.
The Associated Press reported that Energy Minister Hassan Younis said the decision is intended to "prioritize national interests and gives a big boost to the Egyptian nuclear program."
The plant will cost an estimated $1.5 billion, some of which will be financed by the government. Tenders will be issued by the end of the year.
In 2007, Mubarak announced his intention to revive Egypt's nuclear program, which was put on hold after the 1986 disaster at Chernobyl, in the Ukraine. He said at the time that his government would cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency and that Cairo does not desire to develop nuclear weapons.
In Lebanon, Hizbullah head Hassan Nasrallah said Tuesday that the country should consider building a nuclear power plant to provide it with energy. "I call on the Lebanese government to seriously consider ... building a nuclear power plant for the peaceful purpose of generating electricity, which would be more cost-efficient than the plan the government has endorsed," he said in a speech broadcast by video link.
As Rosh Hashanah, the New Year holiday, nears, preparations for the traditional annual pilgrimage to the gravesite of Rebbe Nachman of Bratslav begin.
Rebbe Nachman of Bratslav was a great-grandson of the Ba'al Shem Tov and the founder of the Bratslav Hasidic movement, whose name comes from the Ukrainian town of Bratslav, where Rebbe Nachman lived for the last eight years of his life.
In the nineteenth century, the movement experienced a huge growth in followers from countries such as Ukraine, White Russia, Lithuania and Poland. Rebbe Nachman's philosophy combined in-depth Torah study with Kabbalah, and involved striving for closeness to G-d. He placed a great emphasis on hitbodedut (self-seclusion), an individualized form of prayer and meditation meant to deepen one's relationship with G-d.
The tradition of the annual pilgrimage to Rebbe Nachman's gravesite in Uman, Ukraine is rooted in a tradition that began during his lifetime, when thousands of Hasidim would travel to be with him and learn from him during the holidays of Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah and Shavuot.
Every year, many followers from Israel and around the world continue the tradition and fly to Uman to pray by the Rebbe's gravesite around the time of Rosh Hashanah. Yet this year, as Binyamin Gabbai of Derech Tzadikim (a company that organizes trips to the Rebbe's grave in Uman during this time of year) told Arutz7 on Wednesday, he is convinced that all previous records will be broken.
"This year is a special year and there will likely be more people flying out," said Gabbai. "The Israeli Airports Authority has issued 18,000 flight permits. Every year in the past, twelve flights went out to Uman. This year there will be nineteen."
Gabbai added that ticket prices to Uman this year are cheaper. "Because of the large supply prices have dropped. In past years, expensive flights back to Israel immediately after the holiday, cost $1,200. This year you can get [a flight for] $900. Less sought-after flights can cost $750."
He spoke of a new phenomenon where Jews buy apartments in Ukraine so they have a place to sleep when they visit during the holiday. "There are many individuals who purchase apartments there. They rent throughout the year and live there during Rosh Hashanah."
According to Gabbai, not just Bratslav Hasidim take part in the pilgrimage to Uman, but rather a wide range of individuals from different communities, including Hareidim, religious-Zionists, members of different Kibbutzim, and even young children. "Rebbe Nachman promised that whoever visits him before the age of seven will not taste sin," said Gabbai.
Gabbai is calling on everyone to hurry up and register. "We are working furiously here, it's devotion. I walk in here in the morning and leave at two o'clock at night. To fly this large amount of people is not a simple task, but there is Siyata DiShmaya. Last year we registered people for flights even on the last day before the holiday, and we obtained for them a visa within a few hours. I believe that this year the last flights will also leave on Tuesday [the day before Erev Rosh Hashanah]."

August 23, 2010 — Israeli intelligence infiltrated throughout Lebanese government
WMR has learned from its Lebanese intelligence sources that the Lebanese government is coming to realize that Israeli intelligence penetration of all political groups in the country is worse than originally believed.
Israel's Mossad, once content on penetrating the Christian and Druze parties in the country, has now thoroughly infiltrated the top echelons of Sunni and Shi'a parties, as well. Recently, Lebanon charged retired General Fayez Karam, a senior member of retired General Michel Aoun's Free Patriotic Movement, which is allied with Hezbollah, with spying for Mossad.
Among the political parties penetrated by Israeli intelligence is the Future Movement of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the son of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated by a car bomb in Beirut in 2005. The UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is expected very soon to charge Lebanon's Hezbollah with the assassination. However, Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah recently announced the group had video evidence from Israeli drones that showed the Israeli Defense Force was tracking Hariri before his assassination.
The STL's chief prosecutor, Daniel Bellemare of Canada, requested the evidence from Hezbollah. However, WMR has learned that Bellemare is suspected by Lebanese intelligence of having close previous contacts with agents of both the CIA and Mossad. WMR previously reported that Bellemare is suspected to have allowed and introduced into evidence against Hezbollah in the Hariri assassination, doctored cell phone intercepts pointing the "smoking gun" at Hezbollah. It is feared that Bellemare might give Hezbollah's evidence to Mossad for the Israelis to determine the source of the leak of classified videos.
Mossad is also reported to be grooming a successor to the Lebanese Shi'a political leader Nabih Berri, currently the speaker of the Lebanese parliament. The Mossad operation is being actively supported behind the scenes by Saudi Arabia, a country that is fast becoming one of Israel's most "open secret" allies in the Middle East.
According to WMR's sources in Lebanon, one network that Israel and the United States can rely on to support the UN after the expected indictment of Hezbollah for Hariri's assassination is a Sunni network in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. It includes a member of the same family as Ziad al-Jarrah, one of the alleged United flight 93 hijackers on September 11, 2001.
Lebanese intelligence has linked the Ziad al-Jarrah, who hailed from the Bekaa Valley, to a Saudi-supported Salafist network that includes "Al-Qaeda" associates that will be used to target Shi'as throughout Lebanon in the wake of the Bellemare charges against Hezbollah. Lebanese intelligence discovered that members of this same Mossad-supported Salafist/Al Qaeda network also targeted top Shi'a leaders in Iraq. WMR has learned that Ziad al-Jarrah was used by the Mossad, the CIA, and Saudi intelligence as a "patsy" in the 9/11 conspiracy, just as similar "patsies" are being used in Iraq and elsewhere to help keep the myth of "Al Qaeda" and Osama bin Laden alive.
The same Salafist/Al Qaeda network in Lebanon, while still in an embryonic stage, was used by Mossad and the CIA to spy on Palestinian groups in Lebanon during the 1980s and 90s, as well as on Syria during its occupation of Lebanon.
The Israeli espionage network also extends to Syria. Lebanese sources report that former Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam, who accused Syrian President Bashar al Assad of ordering Rafik Harir's assassination, is tactically backed by Israel and the United States. Khaddam, who heads the exiled National Salvation Front (NSF), is seeking to overthrow Assad. The NSF not only receives support from Israeli and U.S. intelligence but also from the French and German intelligence. The NSF maintains offices in Brussels, Berlin, Paris, and Washington, DC and it is suspected of working behind the scenes with Bellemare to bring chargss against Hezbollah for the Hariri assassination. However, previous attempts to have Assad and pro-Syrian Lebanese generals indicted for the assassination fell through due to lack of any credible evidence.
