There's something at Ace Hardware and it's extremely fine and uniform in
grain size.  I've just seen it this past year.  It runs around $10 for
50 pounds.  I think that it also is marketed as play sand.  Can't swear to it.  It looks like granulated sugar, almost perfectly white.

Works well. I can post a pic of the items I've cast with it, if you'd
like, or PM them to you. Decent but not spectacularly good surface
finish.
