Hi all,

thanks for all these infos and pointers !

Followings the Internet links on the shaper as a starting point, I literally took a plunge into the "old" techniques used in the shops (by "old", I mean "classical", Tom :-) !).

For instance, how lathe operators were able to do almost everything with it (not only "round" things).

An highly interesting and instructive trip for a neophyte.
