Thanks guys for the info. You have convinced me that a VFD and a
3-phase 240 0r 440 volt motor is my best option. I am considering the
Hitachi X200-022NFU1 and a 3phase 3hp 240 volt motor. How do I tell if
a motor is suitable for use with an inverter? The Hitachi manual
indicates an induction motor with an insulation ration of 800Volts is
needed. On a used motor would this info be on the nameplate? I am also
a bit intimidated by the idea of wiring this up even though the
instruction manual looks fairly straight forward. Past experience tells
me that sometimes things become more complicated and myself more
uncertain when faced with real wires. I hope you guys don't mind a bunch
more questions. I also hope I'm not offending anyone by this off topic
exchange. If so I'll drop it. Thanks again.
