Good point Larry- I did my homework prior and contacted the POC for each auction prior to bidding- and work out payment specifics as well... But In my case I am a tightwad and dont EVER reccomend anyone do a "Blind Bid"... get to the location, verify the auction, and put your hands ON the equipment (That is why I posted for FYI in Tx areas- these guys are close enough to get there- and touch the stuff)...
I have aquired 2 ovens and several of misc things (beaker heating/stirring pad and several gas-sampling devices and other things) and only after playing with 'em did I bid...
Remember- the people POSTING these things are warehouse and storage guys that are state/local or federal government employees- they may have no idea of the functionality of the equipment... they just surplus and store the stuff- heck- even the pictures are government employee quality for may shots.... That being said- I have called and driven to several of the warehouses when I wanted to bid on something- and the folks are usually very pleasent, helpful (with an appointment) and knew exactly where the pallet is. Terms are very straightforward.
Kerri
