the parting line on the lathe bed is the base so no radiused edges
required there, the top of the bed has to be flat (and eventually
scraped flatter) so I didnt radius those edges except to fine sand them
a teeny tad (barely knocked the corners off) before varnishing the pattern.
All the inside corners have bondo fillets sanded smooth.
The bed has draft on all sides both inside and out and so do all the
webs, ie. thinner at the base than at the top.
I used 5/16 thick ply because I had it available.
I've used it for two beds and it released from the sand with no problems
both times.
Now I just have to get off my butt and get the rest of the steel to
finish it.
