this monstrous ravine.
Clouds puff and duplicate
In the sun's constant spread.
Mountains engage the eye
From every dimension
Beyond the third
Into a timeless fourth.
Time eased away
In the day's anxiousness.
Next is annexed to now
You are the impermanence of moment.
Ned Green wrote this beautiful poem on the Appalachian Trail in his Journal in 1997.
On February 18, 2001, at only 26, doing what he loved most, climbing, his support on an
ice ledge gave way where he fell into a deep chasm on Mt. Washington, New Hampshire.

Information on humankind's impact on Global Climate Change first began to be posted on Flyby News on 22 February, 2002, beginning with an article about widespread environmental change in the Arctic. - Factual satellite images in the past several weeks are showing that the Gulf Loop Current is broken and may cease to function entirely! This will result in massive climate change and possibly an ice age for Europe! Major trouble brewing?? More freakish weather on its way??

- Abstract: BP Oil Spill may cause an irreparable damage to the Gulf Stream global climate thermoregulation activity.
- The Gulf Stream importance in the global climate thermoregulation processes is well assessed. The latest real time satellite … data maps of May-June 2010 processed by CCAR(Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research), checked at Frascati Laboratories by the means of the SHT congruent calculus and compared with past years data, show for the first time a direct evidence of the rapid breaking of the Loop Current, a warm ocean current, crucial part of the Gulf Stream. As displayed both by the sea surface velocity maps and the sea surface height maps, the Loop Current broke down for the first time around May 18th generated a clock wise eddy, which is still active (see Fig. 1).

- Since comparative analysis with past satellite data until may 2010 didn't show relevant anomalies, it might be therefore plausible to correlate the breaking of the Loop Current with the biochemical and physical action of the BP Oil Spill on the Gulf Stream. It is reasonable to foresee the threat that the breaking of a crucial warm stream as the Loop Current may generate a chain reaction of unpredictable critical phenomena and instabilities due to strong non linearities which may have serious consequences on the dynamics of the Gulf Stream thermoregulation activity of the Global Climate.

Life on this Earth Just Changed
The North Atlantic Current is Gone
The latest satellite data establishes that the North Atlantic Current (also called the North Atlantic Drift) no longer exists and along with it the Norway Current. These two warm water currents are actually part of the same system that has several names depending on where in the Atlantic Ocean it is. The entire system is a key part of the planet's heat regulatory system; it is what keeps Ireland and the United Kingdom mostly ice free and the Scandinavia countries from being too cold; it is what keeps the entire world from another Ice Age. This Thermohaline Circulation System is now dead in places and dying in others.
This 'river' of warm water that moves through the Atlantic Ocean is called, in various places, the South Atlantic Current, the North Brazil Current, the Caribbean Current, the Yucatan Current, the Loop Current, the Florida Current, the Gulf Stream, the North Atlantic Current (or North Atlantic Drift) and the Norway Current.

warm, less salty water from the Pacific to the Atlantic as a
shallow current, and returns cold, more salty water from the
Atlantic to the Pacific as a deep current flowing further
south. This flow is threatened by melting ice in the
Arctic, and disruptions off the Antarctic coast.

Climate chill came exactly 12,679 years ago: study
The study, of pollens, minerals and other matter deposited in annual
layers at the bottom of Lake Meerfelder Maar in Germany, pinpointed an
abrupt change in sediments consistent with a sudden chill over just one year.
