Priorities of MEPs are really screwed up. MEPs do not worry about human rights in Europe, but they worry about human rights in Sahara! They worry about the warriors of Sahara. Warriors and worriers, perfect together!
Monitoring of human rights and compliance with international law are needed in the Western Sahara, said Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs at meetings with Polisario Front and Moroccan government leaders on Wednesday. MEPs also called for fact-finding missions to the region.
Polisario Front representative Mohamed Salem Ould Salek and Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Taib Fassi-Fihri met Foreign Affairs Committee Members to discuss recent incidents in the Western Saharan city of Laayoune.
The dismantling of the Gdaim Izik protest camp by Moroccan forces on 8 November was a point of no return, everything has to change now, said Mr Ould Salek, who deplored the restrictions imposed by the Moroccan forces on the movement of diplomats, foreign embassies, Members of the European Parliament, NGO representatives and journalists.
Mr Fassi-Fihri pointed out the camp was dismantled in a perfectly peaceful manner, and not a single civilian died. Even though people talk about an Auschwitz style internment camp, and Moroccans were accused of assassinating people, yet nobody died. As to claims that journalists, NGOs and politicians had not had free access to the camp, he concluded that the truth has been distorted; people were able to enter and exit the camp.
To clarify matters, Jose Ignacio Salafranca (EPP, ES) suggested that the UN mandate in Western Sahara be extended to include monitoring human rights. Ioannis Kasoulides (EPP, CY) urged Mr Fassi-Fihri to consider bringing in an independent third party committee to monitor the human rights situation in the Western Sahara.
Polisario's Ould Salek contended that the Western Sahara is the last colony in Africa and insisted on the need for a process of self-determination for the Western Sahara with a referendum respecting international law, similar to what happened in East Timor and Namibia.
Moroccan Foreign Minister Fassi-Fihri observed that a referendum is not a panacea, adding that self-determination needs to be found by way of political negotiation, and that Morocco has to be part of any solution found in this issue.
Willy Meyer (GUE/NGL, ES) called Morocco an occupying force in the Western Sahara and urged Rabat to respect international law and release all illegally-detained political prisoners. Mr Fassi-Fihri objected to the use of the word occupation, saying you will not find this word in any UN resolution since 1980, and adding that no UN Security Council resolution has called for a referendum in Western Sahara since 2004.
It's really hysterical that MEPs call for a referendum in Sahara, when a referendum for the Lisbon Treaty was not allowed in Europe! Europeans consider the European Union null and void confederation, because they did not vote for any constitutional treaty!
Eurokleptocrats pulled off the biggest powergrab in history by imposing a camouflaged constitution, bypassing all nonos. The Nazi dream for Europe was finally fullfilled - ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer - one people, one empire, one leader. The Lisbon Treaty is Eurokleptocracy's Pyrrhic victory. It created a confederation, Fourth Reich, without a popular foundation. EU lacks legitimacy among Europeans. Eurokleptocrats created a situation where the citizens of slave States live their lives with a resigned feeling that the EU project is not their own.
It's amazing that MEPs do not give a damn about human rights in Europe, especially in Greece. In UK, police is considered a friend of the people, whereas in Greece, police is considered an enemy of the people. The Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection is a euphemism for the Greek Ministry of Kleptocrat Protection and Citizen Harassment, George Orwell's Miniluv! Graecokleptocrats use their brutal police to protect themselves from the Greek people. Major global riots against police brutality started on December 6, 2008, when Alexis Grigoropoulos, a 15-year-old student, was fatally shot by a police officer without any reason. December 6 is now the International Day Against Police Brutality.
Netizens cannot live properly when they are harassed by kleptocrats and violent deranged cybercops. Heroic Greek dissident bloggers are locked in jail and tortured with courts, perjuring cybercops, and freakish accusations such as treason! American patriot Patrick Henry famously said that if this be treason, make the most of it!
On October 18, 2010, a violent gang of six Greek cybercops broke into the home of a heroic dissident blogger, confiscated his computer, locked him in jail, and leaked false information to the media ridiculing the dissident all over Greece! There were no toilet facilities in his jail cell; instead, the 65-year-old distinguished professor was provided with a small empty bottle of water to urinate in during the night. There was neither mattress nor pillow. There were wild screams of prisoners during the whole night, while the guards were watching TV in their office, pretending they were deaf!
The innocent professor had to resign from his job, and his life has been destroyed. His life has been stolen by a stupid minister of the Greek government, who tried to use him as a scapegoat for the bad publicity of Graecokleptocrats. Is Premier Papandreou proud of her? The Greek government has neither restituted nor apologized yet for its freakish behavior. But more important, not a single MEP asked about it! MEPs are too busy asking about Sahara.... It's high time to send MEPs to Sahara forever!
[purecapitalism] MEPS WORRY ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS IN SAHARA, BUT NOT IN EUROPE!
