I disagree.
This machine has a 2 1/4" swing. That is about the size of a Sherline. I
have never seen any factory parts like this in this size. I have seen
scale models of Bridgeport milling machines that, in pictures with no
scale, looked like the real thing.
Given the particulars of the story, I have no doubt this man had the
skills to model a larger lathe and the resources to do so.
As to wear, if he put that much effort into it, I am sure he knew what
an oil can was.
The price reflects the one of a kind nature of this machine. I have no
doubt a collector will snatch it up.
