Jon,
Great pictures and storytelling. I see Murphy's law here. If you use lost
foam, then you need to do a second casting for a number of unknown reasons.
If you make a wood pattern, then the first one will work OR you will end up
making many of them because other things go wrong. This is what happened to
me with one part of my shaper - 10 tries before I figured out it was the
flask that was deforming.
