If the town votes for a certain display then it is their business and their business alone. The towns people voted for the display which was taken out of the general fund. They wanted it and there was no dissenting vote.

You would have no problem if the practice of Santeria was put out in public display? If folks want a nativity scene they can put it up in their own front yard, Why should the tax payers pay for it? how do you know the religious views of every one in that town?Sent: Saturday, December 25, 2010 5:43 AMSubject: Re: [Politics_CurrentEvents_Group] Hello everyoneThere is a small town near me who has celebrated Christmas by putting a nativity scene in the town square. Recently a highway nearby was closed for a period of time, routed through the town. An atheist from another state was 'offended' by the display and contacted the ACLU who then sued the town. The town not able to pay for defense removed the display. All of this happened even though the town voted for the display and all in the town was Christian except for one Jewish family who had no objection over the display. This is ridiculous! Live and let live, if you don't like the display then at least allow others who do the right to have it.
