It certainly wasn't clear to me in your post that you were the designer of
the patterns. Unfortunately copyright breaches are widespread, whether by
ignorance or by deliberate action. Often it takes money away from people
trying to earn a modest living. Even though I am not a designer, and
therefore not at risk of this happening to me, it doesn't mean that I don't
appreciate and applaud Rita "policing" posts and checking to make sure these
breaches don't happen. Apart from the potential to take away from someone's
pocket, it is also in breach of the Yahoo list rules which as list owner,
Rita is responsible for adhering to.
So I think her question was legitimate and a reminder to us all that we need
to be very clear when posting a pattern/instructions that we are either the
owner/originator or have the correct permissions from the owner/originator
to forward it.
