It would help if you said where you live and what type of metal casting you are hoping to do.
That will help us understand what to recommend. Personally, I've built two furnaces.
One that used the Gingery recommended recipe and one that used commercial refractory.
I've use the Gingery one for Al for going on 5 years now of moderate use. The other
one used Mizzou Castable to melt cast iron.
