[Politics_CurrentEvents_Group] A question of politics about protests.

I wonder if these protests could have taken place, if the Bush administration were still in power? With an exception to Nixon, and Carter, who both kept lines open to all sides, most Republican administrations have fully supported the dictatorial regimes. It's far easier for American BIG BIZ to profit from a known, one man entity, than to wonder what a real Democratic Government might impose upon them. Don't believe it? Count the tax dollars, and blood spilled in both overt, and covert American operations to assure economic "friendliness." In 1053, we gave Iran to the Shah, helping overthrow an elected government. We've spent BILLIONS helping the Saudi Royal family stay in power.  Stopping terror attacks upon our Nation is onlya small part of a far bigger race to economic hegemony.

Why does Saudi Arabia have one of the smaller standing armies in the region? The "family" certainly ahs the MOST to lose, in any showdown with it's enemies, and it's people. Walt
