Congratulations :-))

Since you mentioned drill press, I am gonna brag a little.
I had just about talked myself into buying a new Enco 9x20 lathe to make
into cnc. I looked on Craig's list and saw a new ad. I don't usually
read the ones without photos, but I did this time. Buried in a list of
woodworking tools was a drill press for $90 and a 1993 Enco 9x20 lathe
for $750. Not a super deal considering Enco has them on sale for 929.95
and 73.00 shipping to me. Your shipping may vary.
BTW, if you are considering a mini lathe, spring for this one. The
difference in price is more than made up for in included accessories. A
4 jaw chuck, faceplate, quick change gear box, steady rest, follower rest...
I went and looked. The lathe was a change gear model, instead of the
current quick change gear box version. Not a big deal for a cnc
conversion. The machine looked pretty good for it's age. The seller was
selling for an estate, but he knew the owner. He said he had bought it
new and only used it for a few wood projects, and that it had never cut
metal. I let this go in one ear and out the other. I seldom put any
credence in the jabber of the seller.
I made a low ball offer of 500 for the lathe and the drill press. He
said he'd take 550!
I hadn't paid much attention to the drill press at the time, other that
to see it was a floor model and looked decent. It is a super machine!
Harbor freight has it on sale for $349. I had no idea it was worth so much.
Photos of the lathe are here:

I have since wired it for 110VAC and it works great! Probably the most
accurate and easy to use lathe I have ever used. And I LOVE the keyless
drill chucks.
The drill press is still in the trunk of my car, but here is the web site:

Mine is the older version and has the steel rod handle instead of that
plastic looking crap on the current version. Oh, and did I mention? It
looks brand new. I don't think it was ever used.
