Personally, I prefer "lighter than air" to"heavier than air" as they're much nicer when the engines go out... ;)
I used to crew F-111D's for the USAF, and then I took photos of aircraft accidents, starting on the same base where I'd crewed the aircraft, including a couple of those I later photographed.
