The proposal, by board member Dr. Mark Stegeman, would allow the district to offer the embattled program as elective courses. Currently Mexican American studies can be taken in place of U.S. history as a required core class. Violates La Raza Studies Ban Last Updated: Thu, 04/28/2011 - 11:28am A public school district in Arizona is violating a new state law by continuing a radical La Raza studies program banned under the legislation because it segregates students by race, teaches disdain for American sovereignty and ignites racial hostility. ************************************************ Like I state in a previous opinion piece - Is Congress going to stand up in the vace of disobedience and listen to the majority of the American people or are they going to bury their heads in the sand and buckle under these demands. Are we a nation of laws or not Will Congress listen to OUR demands? or Will Congress listen to the demands of illegal aliens and those you support them? Ruthie Immigration Activist Warns of 'Civil War' Juan Jose Gutierrez, the president of an immigration activist group called Vamos Unidos, predicts that hundreds of thousands of people will march in Los Angeles on May Day, demanding legalization for illegal immigrants. In an appearance Sunday on the Univision program "Al Punto", Gutierrez said that legalization is the only way out of the current policy stalemate. Expressing alarm that federal authorities have deported more than 800,000 illegal immigrants during the Obama administration, he warned that unless Congress passes immigration reform, mounting frustrations with enforcement of immigration laws could lead to violence. Here is an excerpt from his comments: What is the country going to do? When are they going to start arresting – not 800,000 – all of us? When are they going to declare war on us? When will there be a civil war in this country? Is that what the country wants? Is that what the president wants? Is that what the leaders in Congress want? That there be conflicts like we had in the sixties, where the violence explodes? Because our people – it has to be said clearly – can't take any more. Jan Brewer has signed a bill into law that authorizes the construction of a fence along the state's portion of the U.S.-Mexico border, either with other states or by itself. She signed the bill Thursday, but her spokesman, Matt Benson, declined to comment Friday on why she signed it or whether she plans to invoke the authority. The bill does not specify a cost or make an appropriation but says the state would use donations, inmate labor and private contractors. and this *****************************************************
Utah County GOP passes anti-guest worker resolution Posted: 01 May 2011 07:42 AM PDT Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert speaks during the annual Utah County Republican Party convention at Maple Mountain High School Saturday April 30, 2011. A resolution seeking to repeal a guest worker immigration bill signed by the governor earlier this year passed narrowly at the Utah County Republican Organizing Convention. A resolution seeking to repeal a guest worker immigration bill scored a major victory Saturday when it narrowly won endorsement in Utah County — the backyard of one of its key architects and cheerleaders. The resolution passed 443-365 shortly after a series of speakers stood in front of more than 1,000 at the Utah County Republican Organizing Convention and faced a series of standing ovations and catcalls from both sides of the divisive issue. Rep. Chris Herrod, R-Provo, who has battled HB116 since it passed the Utah House earlier this year, made the 10-minute case to support the repeal resolution — followed by a tearful plea from his wife, an immigrant from Ukraine, to vote for it. Even after his side won the narrow vote, he spoke with a sense of weariness. | France's far-right National Front head, Marine Le Pen, stresses party's anti-immigrant stance Posted: 01 May 2011 07:33 AM PDT The president of France's extreme-right National Front has emphasized the party's traditional anti-immigration stance at its annual May Day gathering. Marine Le Pen insisted EU regulations are keeping France from controlling its borders to stop an influx of immigrants from North Africa — a hot-button issue. Polls ahead of France's 2012 presidential elections give Le Pen strong support and suggest she's likely to make it into the second-round runoff. In 2002, her father, National Front founder Jean-Marie Le Pen, shocked France and the world by making it into the runoff. He was trounced by incumbent conservative Jacques Chirac. | Third World Immigration Controls Save Denmark Billions of Pounds Posted: 30 Apr 2011 11:04 PM PDT Denmark is saving over 5.1 billion kroner (£609 million) a year thanks to tighter immigration controls on non-Western migrants, a Danish government report has revealed. The figures show that the country has saved £5.4 billion since 2002, when stricter rules were introduced. The main savings are due to the country reducing the annual amount of non-Western immigrants it lets in. According to the report, immigrants and descendants of immigrants from non-Western countries cost the state 15.7 billion kroner per year, whereas immigrants and descendants of immigrants from Western countries contribute 2.2 billion kroner per year to the economy. The new policy has ensured that there are now fewer non-Western immigrants and more Western immigrants coming to Denmark. The coalition government and its main ally, the Danish People's Party (DF), are predicted to use the findings from the report to further tighten the country's immigration requirements. | Ruthie Minnesotans Seeking Immigration Reform "Restore Order - Secure Our Border" "The Ruthie Report" 8 pm CST every Thursday and select the corresponding date from menu |
