Most carb bodies where die cast out of zinc alloy. I actually worked in a place that die casted more than a few bodies. That was more than 25 years ago so I've forgotten the exact alloy but I believe it was Zemac 7 but don't take my word for it.
It would be best to keep tour zinc and aluminum alloys separate. As to the carb you might want to remove anything that is easily removed before melting. Always handle zinc melting in a well ventilated area.
