You could do it all with a slot drill, rather than dismounting to do the two saw cuts, by overlapping plunge cuts with the slot drill.

Seems over complicated to me.
Drill hole on the waste side at the inside corner. Saw to length, saw down the inside on waste side to break into hole, mill to marked lines with allowance for a cleaning cut, measure and apply the finish cut.
