Well I just came inside from measuring it this am, it's 65' long, 30" diameter at the base where it broke off from the main trunk. I figered 100' was overkill but it sounded good last night lol. It's not a huge deal, replace some tin, couple boards. I'll wait for the ground to dry before I tackle the branch as I am going to have to use one of my tractors and I don't want to tear up the backyard. That's the problem---we can't get the ground to dry around here. The little Ford8N will be perfect for the job.
Yeah I ended up boxing in the back lean to on the barn, the main part of the barn is just too big to heat in the winter. The leanto has doors on both ends so I can open them in the summer and use the wood stove in the winter. When you go thru the main barn area you enter a 10x30 finished area with a 10x20 upstairs. I plan on keeping the lathes and other equipment in that area. The leanto is behind that. Welders are on wheels so I can just move it back to the big area for any large projects.
Right now im trying to decide where to put a nearly 12' long McCormick W9 tractor I accidentally bought at auction the other week. It's an awesome tractor.

Thank god I hadn't moved any of my welders etc into that area yet as who knows how many inches of rain poured in there.

Maybe ill just throw a tarp over the bad area and be on my way to one of the hillbilly shop hangouts I was so fondly bragging about a couple weeks ago lol.
