Nelson, Thanks, yes I know what Loctite is I've used it on the shaper & other devices I've made. What I was wondering is the loctite strong enough to hold the thread rod passing through the ram & keep the plate in place so the ram does not slip as Rick has shown is his PDF file on his shaper. It's not that hard to break loctite free & remove the bolt, & if this happened the ram would not be held down.
