Bosbach makes it clear he is not questioning Merkel's position as chancellor. He just doesn't want to rubber-stamp aid for heavily indebted countries like Greece, if that action could cost future generations dearly. There is only one solution to the dilemma faced by the Greek government over its inability to borrow more money. Shut it down! Debt ceiling or no debt ceiling, deficit or no deficit, all of stupid ministries, agencies, boards, commissions, authorities, bureaus, divisions, services, administrations, and programs should be shut down. This is not complicated!
Schaeuble offers his assurances to MPs that they would retain their power over budget decisions. The federal budget law isn't up for discussion. The federal budget law is the fundamental right of our parliamentary democracy, and no one can take it away - certainly not the government, and as finance minister Schaeuble doesn't even want to take it away. Banks cannot participate voluntarily in illegal acts, such as fiduciary imprudency. Bank directors are committed to bank's welfare, and not the public interest.

There are fears that if German MPs insist on having a greater say in EFSF, other countries will do the same, delaying the whole process and limiting the fund's ability to act swiftly to save stricken states.
