As heroic Wikileaks prepares to expose a huge cache of classified diplomatic communications, the US has warned allies that new revelations may lead to public embarrassment. The cables are expected to expose sensitive foreign policy issues including corruption allegations against foreign governments and leaders, and clandestine US support for terrorism. The leak is expected to contain seven times more data than the infamous Iraq War Diaries released earlier this year.
Participants in the military-industrial-kleptocrat complex(MIKC) are routinely blamed for mismanagement, not infrequently they are accused of waste, fraud, abuse, and kickbacks(WFAK), and from time to time a few of them are indicted for criminal offenses. All of these unsavory actions, however, are typically viewed as aberrations, misfeasances to be rectified or malfeasances to be punished while retaining the basic system of state-private cooperation in the production of military goods and services. These offenses are in reality expressions of a thoroughgoing, intrinsic rottenness in the entire setup.
Freakish Graecokleptocrats accuse dissident bloggers of treason, confiscate their computers, and lock them is jail! But Uncle Sam cannot deteriorate to the miserable level of Greece. In what appears to be a harm minimisation strategy the US government has embarked on an impressive briefing campaign, reaching out to allies across the world.
State Department Spokesman Philip Crowley points out that gearing up for the worst-case scenario, that leaked cables will touch on a wide range of issues and countries, and the State Department is practicing due diligence and assessing the possible impact on on-going diplomatic activity and notifying both Congress and other governments what may occur.
The heart of this issue is the right of governments to keep secrets from their citizens. It has been widely acknowledged that the first two document dumps demonstrated overclassification, while the anodyne nature of many of the secret documents demonstrates the over-classification of sensitive material. Secrecy rather than transparency is the norm as Uncle Sam attempts to keep any documents related to defence and diplomacy under wraps.
The entropy of an organization drastically increases with the size of the organization. The Greek government does not need more than five ministers, but it has fifty ministers! No wonder Greece goes bankrupt. Greek ministers enjoy full impunity, no matter what they do. And they do many stupid things! On October 18, 2010, a minister locked an innocent dissident blogger in jail for allegedly making fun of her! Moreover, brutal cybercops confiscated his computers at home and office, and leaked false accusations to the media, ridiculing the dissident all over Greece.
In reality, another unknown blogger, a fan of the dissident, made fun of the minister. Nonetheless, the dissident had to resign from his job, and his life has been destroyed. His life has been stolen by a stupid minister. Is Premier Papandreou proud of her? The Greek government has neither restituted nor apologized yet for this freakish behavior. On the contrary, the dissident is still tortured with courts, perjurers, and freakish accusations such as treason! American patriot Patrick Henry famously said that if this be treason, make the most of it!
