I have been getting 2TB drives for about $95 and Interface mounts for about $35. Eveything is backed on a regular basis. It is much easier and cheaper than trying to recove data from a failed drive.

I think I'll forgive you, this time! Had that happen a few weeks ago, myself, and actually wound up replacing the harddrive as part of the cleanup. STILL reinstalling software. I've about got the Windows XP Pro partition squared away, and I put Ubuntu 10.10 on it to play with. One of these days, I may just get totally crazed, and put a MSDOS 6.22 partion on there somewhere, too. I bet Visicalc SCREAMS on a 1.6ghz Atom processor... ;)
I was lucky, though, had most of my data backed up on my old desktop. Lost the organization I'd finally managed, but kept the data mostly. If I ever have spare money again, I'm looking at the 2TB external USB drive for external backup. Say, five or six of them, and send one to my brother for safekeeping, just in case!
