Dear Members 1. Austin Minnesota Alleged Forger Had Multiple Indenties ******************************************* 2. BROWNSVILLE — A "suspicious object protruding from the brush" in Starr County led Border Patrol agents to a weapons cache that included an AK-47, three M4-style assault rifles, hand grenades, military-style uniforms and other related items, Customs and Border Protection said Monday. The seizure occurred Friday on the banks of the Rio Grande near Fronton, a small community about five miles west of Roma. Agents reported finding the four rifles, two hand grenades, a ballistic vest, two ammunition-carrying vests, three two-way radios, two uniforms, and 16 fully-loaded 30-round magazines. All weapons except the grenades were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations. One grenade was disposed of at the scene by the McAllen police department's bomb squad; the other was to be turned over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. ************************************************** 3. ************************************************* 4. ************************************************* 5. Like Gene said....... Why was the "training camp" right on our border? Soldiers kill 10 gunmen in northern Mexico clashPublished January 22, 2011 | Associated Press
Soldiers patrolling a rural area on the border with Texas killed 10 suspected drug gang gunmen at a training camp, Mexico's Defense Department said Saturday. The military patrol came under attack after finding the camp of armed men in the town of Valle Hermoso, in the border state of Tamaulipas, on Friday, the department said in a statement. The soldiers returned fire and killed 10 suspects. Soldiers also seized weaponry including 24 rifles, two grenade launchers and 18 grenades, as well as an armored vehicle, it said. The Gulf coast state of Tamaulipas, which borders Texas, has seen a spike in violence since last year's split between the Gulf cartel and the Zetas, formerly a gang of enforcers and now a cartel in its own right. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/01/22/car-bomb-central-mexico-kills-police-officer/

Two were killed outright, and two were DOA at the hospital. Of the three injured, one girl is critical. The National Police are investigating. A week before this incident, gunmen entered a football field and fired into players and spectators. Four were killed then, and twelve injured, and of those, seven were children. - In another incident, an attack on a bus left one dead and five wounded. ******************************************************* 8. Car bomb in central Mexico kills police officerMexico (AP): A car bomb exploded Saturday in the central state of Hidalgo, killing a police commander and wounding three officers. State Public Safety Secretary Damian Canales Mena said the officers were checking out a tip that a body was in the trunk of the vehicle when it exploded. Investigators suspect the Zetas drug cartel was behind Saturday's attack in the town of Tula. It could be revenge for the recent killings of several cartel members by police, Canales Mena said. ***************************************************** 9. http://www.americanpatrol.com/ Cartel Drug War in U.S.? Bill O'Reilly: The Factor follow-up segment tonight -- as we've been reporting the situation in Mexico seems to be getting worse. Drug cartels are killing thousands of people down there and creating chaos all throughout Mexico, but especially on the border with America. So far President Obama has stayed out of the situation, at least publicly, but some believe that will soon change. After Middle East -- "biggest national security policy problem" O'Reilly Factor -- Fox News -- January 24 ~~~|||~~~ Joining us now is Dr. George Friedman, CEO of the intelligence outfit STRATFOR, and author of the brand new book, The Next Decade, And What Is Likely to Happen. All right, Dr., let's begin with Mexico. This is more serious than I think the American public knows. Dr. George Friedman: After the Middle East -- Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran -- this is the biggest national security policy problem we face. O'Reilly: Why? Friedman: Because, if this violence comes across the border, and it's hanging on by a hair, the kind of civil war we're seeing just south of the border would be here – and we don't have the armed forces, the police force or anything, that is necessary to really take it to (O'Reilly talks over the last couple of words). O'Reilly: So why would the cartels leave the relative safety of a corrupt government like Mexico – even though the army is chasing some of them down – and go into the United States where they're going to come up against a much harder play? Friedman: Well, two reasons. First, as the cartels fight, the losers have to go somewhere, or get annihilated. Watch American Patrol Report Comment O'Reilly and Friedman get close to the truth, but avoid the solution -- a good border fence.
