It's been about a week since I swore myself off the hard right blogs. They are too "Jerry Springer"-like, I decided.
What's more, they are becoming increasingly irrelevant.
But it's astounding that the name calling continues:
-Barry Pruett: "Pelline is a flake." Barry likes to compare me to Keith Olbermann, joking about Keith's departure from MSNBC.
-Todd Juvinall: "Pelline is a trust baby probably." At least I'm not a "scumbag" - at least not yet.
-Greg Goodnight: Nowadays Greg refers to me as "Big Boy," the character in front of Big Boy restaurants. Oh and according to Greg, I paid "top dollar" for my home.
High school wasn't that rough!
This blog has done a good job of shining a light on the hard right, which has tried to lead around our community by its noses for years.
It has pointed to the hypocracy, misleading statements and falsehoods that come from their rhetoric regularly.
It's what the local media should be doing, but then they'd be exposed to namecalling too.
As one reader put it here, we are "stubbornly backwater" for a reason.
