Damn, I don't know how I missed the "idea" versus "ideal" error. It has been
fixed and posted.
Error sources on lathe is a bottomless pit IMHO. That is why I chose to
write this for newbies. Your list is good but not inclusive. I just didn't
want to take that big a bite of the topic right now.

Thats really good. You might want to add a section on work flex, way flex,
and dings in the ways raising the carriage.
Also, the word 'idea' should be changed to 'ideal'.
