They still believe in trickle down economics where the wealthy corporations (used to) share their wealth with the workers From: elaine mckay <glyndon47@yahoo.com.au> To: Politics_CurrentEvents_Group@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, 3 March, 2011 9:32:12 Subject: Re: [Politics_CurrentEvents_Group] House GOP votes unanimously to protect big oil subsidies Of course, why can't the teabaggers see it?

More proof that the Rethugs are controlled by Corporations Re the following article From the DailyKos: As you pull into the gas pump and get the "sticker shock" of the latest gas prices you can thank the Republicans for continuing the Big Oil Subsidies. You pay at the pump and the taxpayer also foots the bill. Just more proof that we are in a Government "Of the Corporations, By the Corporations and For the Corporations"! Shayne Munger Link: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/01/951571/-House-GOP-votes-unanimously-to-protect-big-oil-subsidies?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+dailykos%2Findex+%28Daily+Kos%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail With Big Oil raking in record profits, House Democrats offered a Motion to Recommit to the House Republican short-term spending bill this afternoon making a responsible cut to the budget: putting an end to taxpayer-funded subsidies to large oil companies. Repealing these subsidies would save taxpayers tens of billions over the next decade and even ex-Shell CEO John Hofmeister agrees saying "with high oil prices, such subsidies are not necessary." Rep. William Keating (D-MA) offered the motion on the House floor saying "let's stop sending taxpayers' money to the most profitable companies in the world." That's your GOP. They're willing to cut that deficit on the backs of the poor, the elderly, women, the middle class, public employees . . . For all of us, it's "so be it" as jobs disappear. But they sure as hell won't endanger the massive profits of their Big Oil friends. |
