Dear Members Included Below 1. Hartley 2. Perry 3. Guard to stand trial/Mexican Mafia 4. Ninth Circuit allows 11 Countries invovlement in SB 1070 5. Immigration overseas *************************** All the false accusations by Mexico - against an American who just lost her husband due to the violence in Mexico - only for Mexico to confirm what we already knew Where is David Hartley's body ??? Ruthie 1. Investigators in Mexico Name Two Suspects in Hartley Murder REYNOSA - A Tamaulipas state police investigator confirmed Saturday they're looking for two suspects in the murder of David Hartley on Falcon Lake. State police Commander Juan Carlos Ballasteros says Juan Pedro Saldivar Farias, known as "27", and his brother Jose Manuel, known as "31", are suspects in a string of murders, kidnappings, armed robberies and fires. Ballasteros says they're from New Guerrero, Mexico. It's close to the abandoned town of Old Guerrero where David and Tiffany Hartley were attacked more than a week ago.
Hartley says men in three boats opened fire - shooting her husband in the head. Her father Bob Young says he's encouraged Mexican authorities are following leads. "I doubt that they ever make an arrest. I don't know. As far as finding the body, all we can do is hope." Young believes David's body is not in Falcon Lake; he believes the chances of finding it are dwindling every day. CHANNEL 5 NEWS contacted Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez. He tells us he was not aware of any suspects being named by Mexican authorities. ************************************************ 2. Perry takes aim at Texas' sanctuary cities for illegal immigrantsatinsley@star-telegram.com FORT WORTH -- Gov. Rick Perry said Friday that he plans to make getting rid of sanctuary cities -- where officials do not enforce immigration laws -- a priority in the next legislative session. To do that, he said, he'll make it an emergency item in the 2011 legislative session, saying that the action would help Texas law enforcement officers better enforce state laws. ********************************************************** 3. http://www.10news.com/news/25334562/detail.html SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego County jail guard is scheduled to stand trial, the first in the wake of a highly publicized federal investigation into the Mexican Mafia. In 2009, the Violent Crimes Task Force apprehended 40 people suspected to have ties to the Mexican Mafia as part of Operation Keys to the City. While details were kept quiet at first, it turns out one of them arrested was Andres Villota, a San Diego County Sheriff's deputy working at the County Jail downtown. Trial will begin on Oct. 18. ********************************************************** 4. This is UNBELIEVABLE Just goes to show where the Courts and this Administration - stand and it is not with the majority of Americans and Legal Residents Ruthie Federal court allows foreign governments to file briefs in SB 1070 case On Monday, the 9th Circuit ruled in favor of allowing eleven foreign governments to file friend of the court (amicus) briefs in the legal battle over Arizona's anti-illegal immigration law, SB 1070, which is almost identical to an existing federal law and was enacted to help Arizona combat its illegal immigration crisis. One out of ten Arizona residents is an illegal immigrant. The situation is simply out of control and has severely impacted Arizona's ability to deliver social services — from hospitals and schools to law enforcement and welfare — to its citizens. Despite the destabilizing effect illegal immigration is having on Arizona, and despite the fact that SB 1070 mirrors existing federal law, the Obama administration is using SB 1070 to promote cultural and economic divisions in the hopes of scoring political points. The federal government has failed to secure the border. Moreover, the Obama administration does not appear to be willing to do anything beyond suing Arizona in federal court and regurgitating political rhetoric. The foreign countries being allowed to file amicus briefs are: Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile. By allowing these foreign countries to file amicus briefs, the 9th Circuit is effectively saying that these countries have: 1) a compelling legal interest in the Arizona case and 2) an indispensible expertise in the area of U.S. constitutional law. Interestingly, I don't recall there ever being anything in the Federalist Papers or the Constitution concerning foreign opinion of our laws. But then again, these documents were written at a time when sovereignty really meant sovereignty. Perhaps we should query each of the 11 amicus brief countries on how their own immigration laws work. Maybe for starters we should consider adopting Mexico's immigration laws. Wouldn't that be fair? Something tells me that when the governments of Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile file their amicus briefs, they won't be attaching copies of their own immigration laws. I suspect doing so would be far too embarrassing. ********************************************************** 5. Immigration whether legal or illegal seems to be an issue in many Countires This is an FYI - Ruthie Posted on October 10, 2010 Senior German politician calls to stop Muslim immigrationChristian Democratic Union party leader stirs controversy following racial remarks; says 'we don't need additional immigrants from 'foreign cultures' A German official on Saturday called to stop Muslim immigration into the country, stirring public controversy. Horst Seehofer, leader of the Christian Democratic Union Party (CSU), which is a member of the coalition government in Germany, said in an interview to Focus magazine, "It is obvious that immigrants from Turkey and Arab countries face more difficulty integrating into German society than other immigrants." "In any case," Seehofer added," the conclusion is that we don't need additional immigrants from 'foreign cultures'." The German politician's remarks rekindled an already heated public discussion over the question of the Muslim minority's integration in Germany. During the interview, Seehofer also argued that unemployment benefits should be revoked from immigrants who do not seek employment, arguing that immigrants should be forced to share the basic values of Germany, and have command of the language. Seehofer's remarks come after German President Christian Wulff's speech on the 20th anniversary to the unification of Germany.
